Affiliate Disclosure

What an affiliate link means

When you click certain outbound links — primarily on the Money Tools & Resources page — and make a purchase, the retailer may pay us a commission. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or visit the retailer directly; the commission comes from the retailer’s side.

Where affiliate links appear

• In the Money Tools & Resources section, in clearly labeled partner-collection cards.
• Occasionally below relevant educational content, where a tool naturally complements the guide — never required to use the guide.

We do not place affiliate links inside calculator buttons, beside input fields, in fake navigation, in fake download buttons, in pop-ups, or anywhere they could be mistaken for site functionality or advertisements. Calculators remain completely usable without clicking any affiliate link.

Our recommendation rules

• No fake reviews. We don’t publish ratings, “best product” claims, or test results we didn’t genuinely produce.
• No fake prices or discounts. Prices and availability live with the retailer, where they’re current. We don’t invent them here.
• No invented claims. Category descriptions stay neutral; we don’t assert product benefits we can’t verify.
• Always labeled. Affiliate links use rel=“sponsored nofollow” and appear alongside a visible disclosure.
• Education first. The site’s core value — calculators, guides, examples, FAQs — is free and complete on its own.

Regulatory note

This disclosure follows the spirit of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guidelines: material connections between publishers and advertisers must be disclosed clearly. Our footer, resources page, and this page all carry that disclosure so you encounter it wherever partner links appear.

Questions

Ask us anything about how monetization works here via the contact page. And if a partner link ever feels misplaced or misleading, tell us — we’ll fix it.
